I’m a little bit late on this one, but life has been a little crazier than usual as our world has been turned upside down.
Noa turned six months old this past Saturday! I can’t believe its already her half birthday. I had be pictures taken last week, and they turned out just darling. She is getting little curls on the sides of her head and I love it! She had her check up this past Monday and weighed in at 15 pounds even and 24 inches long. She’s in the 25% for weight and 5% for height haha. Chunky little thighs are to die for. She more than fills out her leggings. Her dimples are still as bright and shiny as ever. She’s in a leap right now, so her sleep has been a little lackluster and she wants mama all the time. She’s on the verge of crawling and I think that frustrates her too. Top all of that off with a new tooth that came in on March 10. She hasn’t been terribly grumpy, but not exactly our happy smiley baby either.
Noa tried her first foods a couple weeks ago. Bananas, blueberries, sweet potatoes, and green beans she’s tried so far. She loved the sweet potatoes. She is still breastfed and does great, though she is getting to the age where she is distracted, so she’s trying to roll over in my lap and take my boob with her or pop off often because she has to investigate. Quiet and dim rooms help some.
Noa is really starting to enjoy baby toys. Everything is in her mouth so we are having to send the big kids upstairs to play so that she doesn’t find things to choke on. She definitely prefers to be on her belly when she plays. She can roll in all directions and scoot across the floor, so she is totally mobile now, though not very fast. It won’t be long before her bobbing on hands and knees turns into full-fledged crawling. We will probably have to start closing doors so that I don’t have to baby-proof the bathroom and master. The kitchen has magnetic cabinet locks that are currently open, I’ll just have to switch them back to locked position. She doesn’t sit yet, but she can if I put her in the crook of my legs when I sit on the floor with her. I think she is just putting so much effort into crawling that she doesn’t care to learn how to sit yet. She also loves to jump up and down in my lap. That is a fun – and exhausting – game she likes to play.
The big kids love to interact with her so much, especially Ivan. He loves to make her laugh. She loves to be talked to, and giggle and play with everyone. I can’t believe that she’s already six months old, on the verge of crawling, eating baby food, has a tooth. Where did my little baby go?! Time, slow down.
