It was my turn to work Thanksgiving this year, and with it, comes the weekend shift also. I am bored out of my mind and I still have 4.5 hours left. So I’m going to blog a little.
This week hasn’t been too exciting, but it did have some exciting moments, I guess. We bought a new sofa with a chaise and it was delivered Wednesday. Meanwhile, our old couch is sitting in the garage waiting for its new owner to come pick it up. I love the new couch. They boys are well on their way to breaking it in, jumping all over it. I wanted one with a sleeper in it so that we would have a place for company to sleep. So that’s what we got.
In other news, Ivan has been super busy lately. He is just so full of energy. He is into everything, on everything and everything goes in his mouth. Why?!? I threatened to buy a dog kennel and lock him in it to keep him out of things (I kid; but seriously, how do I make him not get into dangerous situations?). He is like the little energizer bunny. Last night, he fell asleep in the car on the way home. It was bed time anyway so I just laid him down in bed and thought I might have a peaceful bit of evening to myself. Wrong. Here he comes marching up to me while I was on the couch giving me this “hey mom, whats up?” look. He looked like he had been asleep all night and was refreshed for the day. It hadn’t even been thirty minutes!
Sylas is having a big birthday coming up in a couple weeks. Next weekend we are having his party. He requested an Octonaut themed birthday party with an Octonaut cake. I hope Hy-Vee can whip me up one. He is growing up so much. I can’t believe I will soon have a FOUR-year-old. Lately he is starting to call me mom more often than mommy. That makes me so sad (insert one hundred cry-face emojis).
All is well within our household for the moment and that is all that matters to me.
