I’m going to start a series of recipes for quick and easy meals that are “semi homemade.” So without further ado, here is my semi homemade burrito recipe!
I can have this recipe made and served in under 1/2 hour which makes it a great choice for nights where you would normally opt for carry out but can make something at home instead.
What you’ll need:
1lb hamburger
1 packet of McCormic burrito seasoning
1 can Hormell chili (whatever flavor you like)
Burrito tortillas
Shredded cheddar
Lettuce
Tomato
Directions:
Cook the hamburger and add the packet of seasoning according to the directions, set aside.
In a microwave safe bowl, heat the chili. Alternatively you can do it on the stovetop (but it requires another pan to clean up)
Warm your burrito shells in the microwave for a few seconds. Lay your tortilla out flat and scoop out some of the meat onto it in a line. Roll the burrito and top with chili and cheese. Microwave to melt the cheese if you’d like. Top with lettuce and tomato dices.
You can add whatever toppings and sides that you wish but these are the ones we typically use. It tastes just like the stuffed burritos at our local restaurant.
Nothing fancy but it’s better and cheaper than takeout and just as quick.
